I am an accredited play therapist with approximately 20 years of experience. I have worked within a local authority setting for 43 years, much of this being alongside other therapeutic services such as CAMHS and Family Therapy. Play therapy Managing a complex caseload for looked after children, and children subject to plans.
I continue to work with children who are subject to child protection plans, children in care and also children in early help services.
My experience of working with children is:
Working with children and families subject to Child Protection/ Children in Need Plans
Devising and completing programmes for individual sessions with children;
Working therapeutically with children and young people and compiling life story;
Working alongside social workers to contribute to assessments/ reports;
Providing support for vulnerable children and their families in the community;
Liaising with other professionals such as social workers ,the police, Health and Education.
Support to foster carers;
Creating and delivering therapeutic stories;
Devising and delivering Play therapy training for foster cares and other professionals;
Life story work;
Separation and loss;
Post abuse work;
Preparation for permanency;
Attendance at reviews and court;
Completion of reports for reviews and court.
