Deborah Quinn

I have always been passionate about working with and supporting young children with their development. I have 20 years’ experience working as an Early Years teacher in a Primary school, and in more recent years as a school leader for inclusion, supporting children with SEN and their families. Three years ago, I decided to follow my passion for supporting children with their emotional and mental health and trained to be a Creative Therapist.

My ethos is child centred and child lead, based around using a therapeutic creative toolkit consisting of a wide range of play resources and art media to support children to become aware of and to express their feelings.

The therapeutic play that I offer can successfully support children and young people with a range of difficulties including trauma, abuse, attachment difficulties, bereavement, parental separation/divorce, anxiety, low mood, phobias, social communication difficulties, Autism, ADHD, self-esteem, identity issues, emotional regulation, compulsive behaviours, and illness.

I offer individually tailored packages for each unique child I work with. For private referrals I offer sessions from my beautiful garden room. I also work out in the local community, offering therapeutic support for children attending local Primary schools, Nurseries, and, or Children’s Centres. I value working in collaboration with school staff as well as parents to improve outcomes for young people who are finding school and life overwhelming, and this is central to my practice

If you have a child or know a child who is finding life/school or general social situations challenging, and you would like support, then please do get in touch with me, I would be happy to hear from you. I welcome any child or young person who requires support, whatever their difficulties or needs and look forward to working with you.
