Esther du Sautoy
Hello, I’m Esther, a Play Therapist and Children’s Counsellor based in Poole, Dorset. With warmth, calm and empathy, I offer children a safe space and trusting relationship, in which they can explore their difficulties at their own level and pace, often playing out what is hard to put into words. Such difficulties may be impacting wellbeing, self-esteem, family life, friendships or engagement in learning. I am a mum of teenagers and have fifteen years’ experience of working with primary and pre-school children, in roles including school-based counsellor, music teacher and SEN support. My driving passion is providing early help for young children, with the hope that significant mental health difficulties can be avoided as they grow. I currently work in local schools, with private clients and for the Dorset childhood bereavement charity, Mosaic. I’m a registered member of both Play Therapy UK and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and my practice is governed by the standards and Ethical Framework shared by both organisations. In other words, I hold the children’s safety, wellbeing and best interests at the heart of everything I do.
