Katerina Kosti
After finishing my university degree in pre-school education at the university of Crete, Greece and qualifying as a kindergarten teacher, I worked as a kindergarten teaching assistant to gain further practical experience (2015). This inspired me to study for a Play Therapy Diploma in order to develop more knowledge and skills in the field of child mental welfare, an area I feel passionate about.

After qualifying, I worked as a professional Play Therapist at a Performing Arts and Mental Health centre on Crete (CHORAfI AmKE). While working with children with special educational needs, and their parents, I decided to do a Master’s degree in ‘Counselling Psychology and Counselling in Special – General Education & Health’ (2019 – March 2022) through the University of Thessaly, Greece. My practice for my Masters focused on health counselling (Dementia & Cancer) which is another area of interest for me.
Since then, I have taken part in many courses and seminars regarding special education, focusing mainly on autism. I am also a certified Messy Play Facilitator (Messy Play, Art & Therapy – by Hehe) and have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Drama (a research based intervention model developed by Dr Haris Karnezi)

I am currently working as a special education teacher in a public kindergarten in Athens (Agia Varvara) and as a play therapist and parent counselor in ‘Logos gia gnosi’ – a private therapeutic center in Athens (Egaleo).

I am fluent in Greek and English
