Marlene Botha

I am a Certified Therapeutic Play Practitioner With PTUK, PTSA, working with children of 4- 13 years in Potchefstroom, North West Province, South Africa. Children are and always were my passion. I was a teacher for 36 years at different schools around South Africa. I have experience working with high school and primary school learners. I studied Remedial Teaching and practiced at different primary schools. The last 17 years of my teaching career I worked at a school for learners with special needs. After I completed my PTUK Practiced Based Certificate in Therapeutic play with children, I am sold on helping children heal in my play room. I am loving every moment of therapeutic work. Play is magic and I am doing it for the rest of my life. I have a special compassion for parents in our modern world. As a PTUK/SA Diploma Course student, I am helping parents and children to understand each other more effectively. I am working with groups at Nursery and Primary schools.I am planning my MA research on helping families in the playroom with Family Group Therapy at Bekket Leads University.
