Nicola Proctor

I am a Certified Play Therapist at Little Folk Therapy and I work primarily in schools in East Sussex. I also have a private practice space at the Wilderness Woods and I am able to offer weekly play therapy sessions from this beautiful woodland setting.

I work with children and young people allowing them to play out their feelings and experiences in a safe creative space using non-directive child-centred therapeutic approaches. I work creatively using sand, miniature play, art, clay, storytelling, creative visualisation, puppets, games, and music to explore, connect and help your child to understand how they are feeling.

Through play therapy children can learn to better understand their feelings and make sense of their world; increase confidence; happier friendships; increase self-esteem, self-worth and self-belief; feel happier in everyday situations.

I use play and creative arts because they are a child’s natural medium of self-expression and are essential for child development.
