Patricia Stienstra

I am a qualified and experienced play therapist. As a person-centred therapist I meet every child at their own developmental level and every client is met with warmth and authenticity. A strong therapeutic relationship between the child and myself is at the heart of their successful therapeutic process and their increasing self-empowerment. Children I work with usually grow in self-awareness and improve their resilience, regulatory capacity and emotional literacy. I see many children who struggle with some form of anxiety, and play therapy has proven itself to be an excellent vehicle for taming this invasive feeling of uneasiness, resulting in happier children.
To strengthen the work I do with children I also offer therapeutic support to parents and families. Together we can find ways to help you feel better equipped to support your child at home in a therapeutic manner, and help them navigate their challenges.

I am experienced in working with children with a wide variety of problems and challenges, including neurodivergent children, pre-school children, young teenagers, non-verbal children as well as non-verbal adults. I work with clients at my clinical practice in Skipton , which is an inviting and therapeutic space, and I also travel to schools if necessary.
Thank you for reading my biography, I look forward to hearing from you soon to find out how I can be of support to you, your family and your child.
