Rachel Morse

I work for Luna Play Therapy based in Taff’s Well. We are passionate about the power of non-directive play therapy. We work predominantly (but not exclusively) with children in the care system or post adoption. We also offer support for carers and parents alongside the therapy with the child. As an individual I have a particular interest in movement and am fascinated by what is communicated through the unconscious by the body rather than by words. By working at this core level, you can really hear what the child is saying, rather than what limited vocabulary or conscious ability allows. We offer Life Story work but are adamant that this is not to be delivered before a therapeutic relationship is established and the child is ready for the process. Many of my colleagues are also Theraplay and DDP trained. This brings a vibrancy to the services we offer and enables us to tailor interventions specifically to the child, their needs, and the families too.
I am also a supervisor and love the different vision this brings to a process. I encourage my supervisee’s to be creative in their sessions enabling their unconscious to be part of the process too.
Finally, I have just started out as a course director teaching in Bristol. I am excited to share the wonder of play therapy with so many others as they set off on this journey.
