Ellie-Mae Wilson

Every child should have a happy and safe childhood. Being able to help a child smile, be happy and thrive is an achievement itself to me. I believe supporting a child with their emotional care and well-being is very important and can help a child achieve more in their life.
I strongly believe in supporting a child’s emotional care is very important and one reason why I wanted to become a Play Therapist. In the Play Therapy room, I have worked with children individually and in a group. The children can explore with anything they like in the room, and I follow. I reflect verbally when it feels right to and join in when asked. In the room I have created some activities for the children, but they make the decision whether they want to engage with them or not. The children are not judged or questioned in my room, which I feel helps build a positive relationship and helps the child feel comfortable and relaxed. This can help the child engage more and feel safe to explore them self’s if wanted to.
Working with parents, careers, teachers and other professionals is also vital, so we can work together to meet the outcomes for the child.
I am very passionate about helping children with their emotional and well-being and letting a child be a child and become a healthy happy adult. My ambition is letting the child, ‘Play, Explore and Grow’. Which can help them with their future.
I can work with children individually or within a group, in a school setting.
